FLOODS AFFECT OVER HALF OF SOUTH SUDAN

Floods from seasonal rains cover 43 of 79 counties in the ten states of South Sudan affecting over 260,000 people.

The hardest hit areas include Jonglei, Lakes, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Unity and Upper Nile states, the UN OCHA said.

Over the past week, new flooding was reported from Cuibet County in Lakes State and Baliet, Nassier and Ulang counties in Upper Nile.

Humanitarian agencies are supplying house-hold items, shelter, food, water, sanitation and hygiene to the affected people.
