The Media Bills process was delayed for parliamentarians to pass the best lasting laws for the new country.

The statement came from thee Chairperson of the Committee of Information, Culture and Telecommunication in the National Legislative Assembly, Joy Kwaje Eluzai.

Ms Kwaje told CRN that the media bills process is taking long to ensure the quality of the laws.

She called on the public and media practitioners to support the process and propose amendments because good laws need the attention of all.

Ms Kwaje urged the public in general and media practitioners in particular to be patient and give the House enough time to do its work.

The South Sudan media bills came to light in 2008 and have taken a long road to be approved by the parliament.
