Clashes between two communities in Cueibet County of Lakes State have disrupted traffic between Rumbek and Tonj for the last one and half months.
The troubles started with an argument between a local woman and a cattle camp boy at the market and grew into an all-out confrontation between the two communities, a resident told CRN.At least 38 people were killed.
As a result the Rumbek-Tonj Road is closed to traffic between 6 PM and 6 AM.
Peacekeepers from the UNMISS mounted a camp in Cueibet for two weeks after the county commissioner took to the bush.
Our source said the situation is still tense but the army imposed some calm between the two communities.
