Wau Justice and Peace Commission is training key people in the Catholic diocese about the process that will lead to the approval of the permanent Constitution.
The two-day training is a further step after last May’s conference which enlightened the population about the Constitution review process.Kaidi Cleto Hassan, one of the participants, said she learned about the Interim, Transitional and Permanent Constitutions and the draft process.
The participants also learned skills to organize local workshops on the constitutional review process.
Justice and Peace Commission Coordinator Natalina Andrea Mabo said the training aimed at conveying information about the permanent Constitution and to prepare the participants to pass the message to the rest of the community, especially in the rural areas.
She explained that the training will help the community to understand the value of the Constitution and how to contribute to the process.
Ms Andrea added that the budget restricted the number of participants in the workshop.
She urged the community to cooperate with the Justice and Peace Commission to let all understand the importance of the Permanent Constitution for the country.
