The European Union allotted 120 million Euros, some 600 million Pounds, for rural development in Greater Bahr El Ghazal in the next three years.
EU Ambassador to South Sudan Sven Kuhn Von Burgsdorff said the EU wanted to link rural development with relief and rehabilitation work and bring on board the Government as partner to assure long-term sustainability to the projects.Ambassador Von Burgsdorff said the Agriculture Trade Fair scheduled for the end of November in Juba will be a good occasion to discuss problems facing rural development.
He added that the EU-US sponsored fair will focus on food security and investment opportunities to develop long term rural development.
The EU Ambassador was speaking in Juba on Tuesday at the World Food Day celebration.
