Hand washing is an essential way of preventing diseases among the communities.
Lakes state Minister of Health Daniel Gumwel Nhomabur saidÊ washing hands with soap is among the most effective and inexpensive way of preventing diseases.He was addressing Global Hand Washing Day at Comboni Primary in Rumbek.
The State Minister for Physical Infrastructure Adak Costa Mapuor, said her Ministry is working hard with other development partners to ensure easy access to water in every home.
She said there is sufficient water and urged people to preserve at least a Jerry cane of water everyday for hand washing.
The State Minister for Education Mr. Athain Majak Malou who represented the State Governor Chol Tong Mayay, said the hand is exposed to germs due to its active nature.
He explained that germs picked by the hand can contaminate food and lead to spread of diseases.
The occasion was attended by pupils from 15 schools in Rumbek.
