PUPILS CELEBRATE HAND WASHING DAY

Pupils from various schools today gathered at Usratuna Basic School to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the global hand washing day.

The day is commemorated under the theme: √É’Help more children reach their 5th birthday’.

Okot Sisto Raphael who represents the head teacher of Usratuna said most adults and children in Juba get their water from contaminated sources.

He said the government needs to drill more water points to reduce the use of contaminated water in order to secure lives of children.

General Education representative Ben Lou said the schools play important role to teach pupils wash their hands.

He encouraged all head masters, teachers and all the citizens not only to celebrate the day but to keep the practice to maintain health.

Mr Lou said the ministry of General Education will promote the practices in all the schools in South Sudan so that children grow healthy.
