KIIR URGES PARLIAMENT TO QUICKLY RATIFY COOPERATION AGREEMENTS

The President of the Republic has urged the national parliament on Monday to quickly endorse the Cooperation Agreements signed between South Sudan and Sudan last month.

President Salva Kiir urged the Speaker James Wani Igga and the MPs to √É”speedily ratify” the Cooperation Agreements between Juba and Khartoum and give him necessary support for implementation.

He said the deal will create stability and improve the economy of South Sudan and the living standards of people.

President Kiir added that the people of South Sudan have suffered very much and that his government will work hard to prevent a return to war with any country.

He said it is time to focus all energy to develop the young nation and ensure its development and prosperity.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday opened the third session of the National Legislative Assembly and explained to the MPs the Agreements he signed with his counterpart Omar Bashir in Addis Ababa on September 27.
