INFORMATION COMMITTEE MEETS MEDIA HOUSES IN YAMBIO

The Committee for Information and Telecommunication in Western Equatoria State Legislative Assembly on Friday met the Media houses in Yambio.

The chairperson for Information and Telecommunication Committee, Modir Martin Ngarowu the meeting was to know challenges and achievements of the Media in the state.

Yambio FM Manager, Mr. Philip Mbugo said the plan for extending the Radio coverage to all corners of the state is challenging.

He added that a big challenge is lack of close relationship between the Media Houses and the State Ministry of Information.

Anisa FM Manager, Fr. Ignatius Mborihenga said Radios successfully have touched the life of people, and most programs are much educative in the state.

Other Journalists said most organized forces usually refuse to give information to Media.

Mr Ngarowu said the Committee will oversee that the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication addresses some of the problems.

He added that the committee will summon the Minister to present his work plans.

The meeting brought together managers of Anisa Radio and Yambio FM and other journalists in the state.
