At least 100 disadvantaged Juba pupils will receive a scholarship from an energy company in order to conclude their primary studies.
Tristar Energy Limited coordinator, Diana Wani, told Bakhita Radio over the phone that her company decided to sponsor at least 100 pupils because it noticed that some pupils were not going to sit for final examinations if they did not pay their school fees. She revealed that Tristar had been involved in several activities with the ministries of health and education in Central Equatoria.
Ms Wani said Tristar is sponsoring only pupils who did not pay school fees.
The sponsorship includes pupils from Juba’s Malakia, Sadaka and Gabat primary schools.
The official programme to award the scholarships takes place on Sunday at Gabat Primary School.
