Domestic violence is the root cause for marginalization and abuse against girls and education is answer to it.

Central Equatoria State Director-General of Education David Lowela Lodu accused families of marginalizing their daughters.

He said parents use verbal, emotional and physical abuse that end in social abuse of children.

Plan International South Sudan Country Director, Gyan Adhikari, appealed to the government and partners to join hands to boost girls’ education.

He called on parents to send their daughters to school today because it will be too late tomorrow.

Mr Adhikari said if girls remained behind, the whole nation remained behind too.

The two speakers were addressing the International Girl Child Day commemoration at Juba Technical Secondary School on Thursday.
