The Western Bahr El Ghazal Minister for Local Government said Wau County headquarters will be transferred to Baggari Payam despite strong opposition from local leaders.
Angelo Taban said the transfer of the county headquarters is in line with the SPLM vision to bring the town to the village.
The minister stressed the county will be transferred to the designated location, warning the critics to stop instigating opposition.
Mr Taban commented that those who are against this government plan are those who do not want to work in the new headquarters.
He said the government wants people to move to different parts of the state.
The minister clarified that the transfer of Wau County headquarters aims at extending Wau and adding new areas to the city.
Mr Taban made these statements in response to the position of Wau County chiefs and intellectuals on Sunday that the County headquarters should remain in the current location.
