Daniel Comboni did not come to Africa as a trader but as an apostle moved by faith and love.

The administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek Fernando Colombo said in his homily during Comboni Day commemoration at the Holy Family Cathedral that Daniel Comboni came to Africa out of faith as an apostle.

He said 130 years ago many people came to Africa moved by money and other evil interests including slave trade.

The Administrator added that Comboni came propelled by the love of Jesus and by the love for the Africans.

Fr Colombo asked the congregation to follow the good work of St. Daniel Comboni through the love of Jesus Christ.
