CONSTITUTION REVIEW TRAINING CONCLUDES

A two days training in Constitution review process organized last week in the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek, concluded over the weekend.

The training called on the participants to share the skills they have learned with members of their respective communities.

The Coordinator for Justice and Peace Commission in the Diocese, Fr. Don Bosco Ochieng said the South Sudan Transitional Constitution will be a document for the present and future generations.

He encouraged participants to represent the Diocese in their respective areas and reach out to everyone irrespective of their religious backgrounds.

He expressed hope that the enthusiasm displayed by participants during the training, will continue as they go out to disseminate the Transitional Constitution messages.

One of the participants, Mabior Wende Makuek appreciated the Diocese of Rumbek for the initiative.

He described the training as an eye opener and good steps the country is taking to realize a reviewed constitution for the welfare of all the people of South Sudan.

Mr. Wende said they are committed to educate members of their respective communities on the Transitional Constitution despite obstacles that may arise.

The training which took place at the Diocesan guest house, Pan Door was organized through the support of the Catholic Relief Service, funded by the National Development Institute brought together 15 religious leaders from the eight Counties of Lakes State.
