The Head of UNHCR, United Nations High Commission for Refugees Africa Bureau has expressed deep concern over deteriorating condition of South Sudan Refugees.

The statement came after a visit of Heads of UNHCR and WFP to Pariang, Yida, Jammam, Gendrassa and Doro among other Refugee Camps in both Unity and Upper Nile states.

The Director of UNHCR Africa Bureau, George Okoth Obbo said hundreds of Sudanese refugees arrive daily in each camp in a very poor health condition.

He said the death rate is alarming.

Mr Okoth revealed that huge challenges include health, lack of food, shelter and accessibility.

He said UNHCR, WFP and the national Government are working closely to remedy the situation that has improved a bit compared to previous months.

Mr Okoth explained that UNHCR needs 183 million dollar to sustain humanitarian operation in South Sudan.

So far 40 percent of the fund is available.
