Serious hunger has hit hardÊ Lomun, Umm-Derein County in the month of August better known as silent month to the extend that residents are r eating brewing residue.
Mr. Zachariah Fadallalah who came from Lomun two weeks ago said that many people have fled to the neighboring areas to look for food.He said pregnant women and elderly go to the nearby bush and dig roots of some trees to eat.
Lomun has been leading producer of onion among other agricultural products in the post conflict and used to supply the entire people of Umm-Derein and Heiban counties.
