WEAK JUSTICE AND ARBITRARY ARREST VIOLATE RIGHTS IN SOUTH SUDAN

South Sudan Human Rights Forum today identified found out that weak justice system arbitrary arrest, and unlimited presidential amnesty violate Rights of the people of South Sudan.

The Forum was co-chaired by Deputy Chairperson of South Sudan Human Rights Commission

The Deputy Chairperson of South Sudan Human Rights Commission, Biel Jock Thick, said there are major areas that hinder the human rights records of the new nation, Bakhita Radio reported.

He added that and all those issues affecting human rights in the country would be discussed in detail

Mr Thick explained that his commission is worried whether right procedures were followed on the recent execution of two inmates on death row.

He said the commission has formulated a committee to investigate in to the matter.

The meeting brought together participants from various works of life including churches, civil society and UNMISS among others.
