South Sudan is fortunate to achieve its independent after human minds have opened in the twenty first century.
The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala said South Sudan is fortunate because it was born where extractive justice which was not held as a value in the past centuries already prevails.The Bishop was speaking during the opening session of the conference of harnessing natural and public resources for a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan, under the theme “what can we learn from others?”
He said South Sudan can learn resources management from neighbouring countries that got independence long ago.
Bishop Hiiboro called on South Sudanese to go slowly, be humble and keen in designing laws.
The Catholic Prelate called on the invited experts to be very sincere and open to South Sudanese by revealing how they were using their natural resources.
He said South Sudanese are ready to learn so that the new country avoid suffering from resource scarcity.
The three-day conference that was aimed to share experiences was organized by the Civil Society working Group supported by the Cordaid and Justice Africa.
