The Diocesan Administrator of Rumbek convoked the fourth diocesan youth congress, opening the ground for full preparations for the event that brings together hundreds of youths from the eleven parishes of the diocese.
Fernando Colombo told Good News Radio that the youth congress will be held under the theme “Faith in Jesus opens doors.”He said the congress is set in the wider context of the Year of the Faith √ɬê that starts on October 11 √ɬê and the Synod on the New Evangelization taking place in October.
The Comboni Missionary said faith is a personal encounter with Jesus Christ that brings about constructive human encounters including relationships with those considered enemies.
Fr Colombo explained that the fourth diocesan youth congress was delayed expecting the appointment of a new bishop following the death of Bishop Caesar Mazzolari.
He said the congress will be held in mid December to allow students to take part.
Fr Colombo underlined that the congress to beheld in Rumbek should be an interior message of faith to the youth and to the diocese.
The last congress took place in December 2010 at the Catholic Mission of Holy Cross in Yirol under the theme “Walking with Jesus towards Justice, Peace and Reconciliation.”
