The Council of Ministers has today commended and honoured beauty queen Atong Demanch who recently won the Miss World-Africa Beauty title.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists that the Cabinet has decided to honour Ms Demanch for her achievement and named her Ambassador for Culture.
He explained that the Council assigned the ministries of Finance, Youth and Gender to determine what prize to offer Ms Demanch.
Dr Marial said the Council of Ministers congratulated Guor Marial, the South Sudanese marathon runner, for participating in the London Olympics.
He added that even though Guor ran as under the Olympic flag, he effectively represented South Sudan at the London games.
