Lughi Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Loreto in Lumun, Nuba Mountains, is planning a workshop on liturgy to train Catholics in order to strengthen their faith.

Acting Parish Priest Robert Philip Kalo said the course will cover a number of topics including trauma, Christian life in the Bible and the importance of the Sacraments in the Church.

He added that liturgical workshops are spaces that keep Catholic faithful up to date and promote the Catholic ways of worshipping.

Fr Philip stated that the course will start on September 20 in the three centres of Rigifi, Lumun Chuguri and Kerker Nduru.

The acting Parish Priest said war brought hunger, displacement, illness, death.

He added that the war has also brought God nearer and it is also a time for Christians to rely more on God and discover Him as their closest friend.

The liturgical programs in Nuba Mountains began in 2002.
