The Eastern Equatoria State Assembly Tuesday passed the policy statement of the Animal Resources and Fisheries Ministry.
The 15-page document presented by Minister Hassan Urban Alex highlighted the strategic philosophy, mandate, mission, goals and core values of the ministry, Emmanuel Radio reported.The document also detailed the structure and the key functions of the ministry and what it achieved, challenges and plans.
MP Dominic Otwar proposed that the ministry should introduce goat rearing around mountain areas, identify grazing lands and create water dams for animals along the Kineti River in order to reduce conflict over resources.
