Japan has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of South Sudan to develop the capacity of public TV and radio.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chief Representative in South Sudan, Atsushi Hanatani, and Undersecretary of the Information ministry George Garang Deng signed the document, Bakhita Radio reported.
Information Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin thanked the Government of Japan for the cooperation between the two countries.
He said the MOU provides training and modern equipment to both SS TV and SS Radio stations.
Dr Marial encouraged such cooperation with the Government of Japan to continue.
The training of SS TV and Radio staff is expected to start in September in Juba.
