A South Sudan Muslim chief has called on religious leaders to join efforts and support the Government through the provision of services.
South Sudan Islamic Council Secretary General Altair Bior Ajak told CRN that religious leaders have to build schools, hospitals, water points and roads. He suggested Muslims and Christians to engage in agricultural schemes to provide food to all.
He recalled that the Sudan Council of Churches helped all the people in the liberated areas without discrimination during the war.
Mr Bior said the people who survived the war have the duty to look after widows, orphans and disabled and honour the memory of those who gave their life for the new nation.
He added that joint efforts of religious leaders will strengthen the new nation instead of depending on the government for services.
