The Government has not yet paid July salaries to civil servants due to a technical problem from the new budget regulations that delayed the process and not for lack of cash.
The national deputy finance minister Marial Awou Yol told the press Tuesday in Juba that the delay was cause by the fact that the new budget was approved late in July.
New pay sheets were to be produced to comply with the budget that halved house allowances and cut other benefits.
First Undersecretary for Finance Salvatore Garang Mabiordit said the money is already in the salaries account waiting for the payment details to be submitted by the authorities.
Deputy Minister Awou promised that August salaries will be paid on time.
