CITIZENS BLAME AUTHORITIES FOR JUBA RAMPANT PROSTITUTION

Juba residents are blaming the government for failing to ban open prostitution in the capital of South Sudan.

Over 3,500 sex workers are believed to be plying their trade in Juba putting the future of the country at high risk.

Dr Loy told Bakhita Radio Juba Wake Up morning phone-in show that the practice of prostitution in Juba went well beyond issues of personal freedom.

He blamed the authorities for failing to stop rampart open prostitution in Juba that puts at risk the future of the nation.

Dr Loy added that freedom does not mean that people behave and act the way they want.

He called on the authorities to act immediately to put an end to such a ridiculous situation.

Lual Deng said foreign prostitutes should be banned because they have brought open prostitution to South Sudan.

He asked the government not to legalize foreign prostitutes but stop prostitution in the country.

He said people are being made sick through prostitutes and the future of the country is in danger.

Prostitutes are concentrated in major sex camps of Jebel, Gumbo, Custom and Gudele, in Juba.
