Yei River County inter-primary School tournament ended yesterday in Yei Freedom square with the football’s final game.

Pupils from Morakonye Primary and News Generation disputed the trophy and Morakonye won two-nil.

Emmanuel Model and Christ the King girls could not play the final of netball because umpires did not turn up to referee the game.

Over 1,000 people watched the final game.

Yei River County Commissioner was the guest of honour for the function.

David Juma Augustine said success in football was all about discipline in the playing ground.

He thanked the two primary school teams for maintaining discipline in their final game.

Commissioner Juma said sports are a unifying factor that bring different people from the neighbouring countries and the tribes of South Sudan.

He called all the parents to support and encourage their children to participant in sports so that they are able to exercise their talents and participate in national teams.
