Muslims in Juba have expressed happiness for the celebration that marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Sheikh Abdun Moter Goon told the CRN today that he was happy for the celebration.He congratulated all the communities of South Sudan on the celebration of the Islamic festival.
Sheikh Goon said the people of South Sudan are happy, living in peace, harmony and religious coexistence which did not exist before the separation.
He appreciated Christians for being at peace with their Muslim brothers and sisters in one country while working together for development.
Abdallah Kayos, who attended the celebration for the first time in South Sudan, said he and his children were very happy for the Id festival.
He congratulated his fellow Muslims believers for the conclusion of Ramadan and prayed for God’s blessing upon South Sudan.
Mr Kayos congratulated Christians who joined Muslims to celebrate the religious festival.
Id al Fitr al Mubarak celebrations started on Sunday and end on Wednesday.
The undersecretary of Labour, Helen Achiro, announced non-Muslims have to report to work on Tuesday.
