MEDICAL CHARITY LAUNCHES CLINICAL SPECIALIST OUTREACH PROJECT

A medical charity, African Medical and Research Foundation, AMREF has today launched Clinical Specialist Outreach project in Juba teaching hospital that aims to extending services to the rural people.

AMREF’s Acting Country Director, Mambo Abudo said his charity has been in South Sudan for along time running several project to rural people, Bakhita radio reported.

He said the launching of today’s specialist clinical outreach programme is to target rural hospital with specialists surgical operation as it had been operating in East Africa.

Mr Abudo added that 75 percent of clinical officers working in South Sudan are graduates from Maridi National Health Training institute which is being supported by AMREF for almost 15 years.

National Deputy Health Minister Yatta Loli Lugor said the launching of specialist outreach is meant for the rural people.

He said there are 25 different specialities that the ministry want the AMREF to take to the rural people.

Dr Loli thanked AMREF and called it to extend services to area such as Tombura, Nasir, Kuajok, Aweil and Chukudum.
