The austerity measures will not affect the budget covering the expenses for celebrations of the Independence Day in the state.
The Deputy Chairperson for the First anniversary of the Independence celebrations Committee in Western Bahr El-Ghazal State, Maradouma James Banjamin, said last month the state government announced deductions in the government expenditure and salaries.
He said the state government has received an official letter from the National Ministry of Finance indicating a reduction of more than 20 million in the state budget.
Mr James confirmed that State Government has enough money reserves to guarantee the success of the celebrations.Mr James explained that the preparations are ongoing and the committee planned for a program commencing on 8 in the evening in Wau Stadium.
Mr James appealed to all citizens to take on the responsibility of rehabilitating and building the nation.
He said the celebrations will include speeches, cultural entertainments from all institutions.
