Nuba Mountains traders were urged to sell goods they import from South Sudan at fair prices.

Deputy Chairman for Trade Union in Kauda Administrative Unit, Abass A, said the traders should not sell goods at high prices for everybody to be able to buy what they need.

He added that despite of bad roads, traders should not overcharge goods although it is one of the reasons as why they do so.

Mr A stated that the authorities are struggling to bring goods to the civilians of Kauda despite of heavy rains and insecurity by Khartoum’s warplanes.

The official said the union is trying its best to talk to traders to reduce the prices of goods from South Sudan.

Prices started rising in Nuba Mountains in January 2011 following the referendum of South Sudan and the outbreak of war between SPLA-North and Sudan Army Forces in June last year.
