The new minister for local government and law enforcement was sworn in and took his place in the Government of Western Equatoria State.

Minister Daniel Ezibon Zingifuaboro paid tribute to all the heroes and heroines who shed blood for the independence of South Sudan.

He promised to be honest and trustworthy to work with the people regardless of their tribal origins.

Mr Zingifuaboro thanked the Catholic Church for paying his studies since he joined seminary in 1982 until he left the country.

Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro urged the minister to collaborate with his colleagues, organized forces and be close to the local people to know their needs.

He added that he is the first person to be brought from the diaspora to work in a high position and if he performs well others can be invited to the Government.

Mr Bakosoro urged all the government officials to work accordingly though the time of austerity.

The new minister is a lawyer by profession.

He was appointed by the state governor while he was still studying in Australia.

Governor, state high court president, ministers, heads of organized forces, MPs, county commissioners and local chiefs were among the participants at the swearing in ceremony for the new minister for local government in Western Equatoria.
