CENTRAL EQUATORIA CABINET TAKES TO THE STREETS TO CLEAN JUBA

The Government of Central Equatoria, the Mayor and Juba city councillors have joined hundreds of citizens to clean Juba ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The President of the Republic in several occasions criticized publicly the Mayor for overlooking the garbage on the national capital’s streets.

Central Equatoria state Deputy Governor Manase Lomole Waya talked to the journalists at Jebel market during a pause in the cleaning, Bakhita Radio reported.

He thanked Mayor Mohammed Al Hajj Babbala for organizing the campaign to clean the city.

He called on every household to plan at least a tree in their compound to reflect the motto “Keep Juba Clean and Green.”

Mr Lomole said the campaign marks a turning point to transform Juba and give a positive image.

He added that to clean Juba is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

Almost all the state ministers, advisers and MPs participated in the cleaning of Juba in all the three payams of Munuki, Juba and Kator.

At the end of the cleaning, the Cabinet resolved that the state authorities will continue to support the Mayor beyond Independence Day celebrations.
