Participants at BBC monthly Africa Debate in South Sudan have expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s performance one year after independence.
The BBC monthly Africa Debate conducted Friday morning in Juba brought around 150 participants from various walks of life.David De Dau, one of the panellists, said one year of independence left him with little satisfaction from the Government of the new country.
He added that South Sudan needs a national army and the SPLA should not be dependant of the SPLM.
Clip 1 citizens concern
Minority leader Onyoti Adigo from the SPLM-DC said the SPLM-led government is not delivering adequate services to the citizens of the country.
He charged that government officials only serve themselves.

SPLM Deputy Secretary Ann Itto said the main objective of South Sudan’s independence was achieved.
She added that development and service delivery will gradually follow.
Dr Itto said the party worked hard to unite the country by including other parties in government.
