OVER 50 WESTERN BAHR EL GHAZAL WOMEN AND YOUTH JOIN ARMY

More than 50 women and youths in Western Bahr el Ghazal state have voluntarily joined South Sudan army.

Acting governor Angelo Taban Biajo said the SPLA struggled for more than 21 years until it brought independence, Voice of Hope reported.

He added that this is the right time now for the youths and any other volunteers to join their brothers and sisters in the army.

Mr Taban explained that those who join the army will be trained in order to defend and protect the country.

He said people should feel happy and proud to offer their services to their country by joining the SPLA.

Mr Taban congratulated those who had volunteered to be future soldiers.

He noted that all the ten states are supporting the army.

The acting governor explained that the state made an agreement with Division Five administration to train the volunteers who joined the army and ensure that the trainees are ready for duty.
