The chairman of Mangalla Youth Association has rejected Terekeka commissioner’s claim that Mangalla payam falls under his administration.

Terekeka Commissioner Clement Maring told Al Masir daily newspaper that his county has ten payams including Mangalla.

James Tombe told Bakhita Radio that the commissioner’s claim was unfounded.

He said there is no document to annex Mangalla payam from Juba to Terekeka County.

Mr Tombe blamed the state ministry of local government, the parliament and all executive committees in the state for lack of response to the commissioner’s attempt to annex Mangalla payam to Terekeka County.

He expressed fear that Mangalla payam may be annexed to Terekeka when the proposed new counties are officially announced and county maps redrawn.

Mr Tombe called on the state government and on MPs to resolve this issue once and for all.

Terekeka Commissioner was not accessible for comments.
