Lack of water is affecting pupils and teachers in Mapel, Western Bahr el Ghazal.
Headmaster Simon of Ireneo Model Primary School said his institution is facing water shortages for a long time, Don Bosco FM reported.He stated that the water crisis is affecting children both mentally and physically by getting sick.
Mr Simon said the school has been getting help from UNICEF and Save the Children to in order to run well.
He appealed to the governments of Western Bahr el Ghazal and South Sudan to provide a water system to his school.
Mr Simon said other schools in the area are facing the same problem.
He urged the people of South Sudan to support primary schools in all ways possible to fight illiteracy in the country.
