Some members of JUSU, Juba University Students Union, said they do not support the decision their president to take the administration of the university to court over the suspension of the union.

JUSU Secretary General Khor Puoch Chop told Bakhita Radio this morning the members of the union do not wholly supported the President’s decision.

He said Ajang Ajang Lino did not consult all the members of the union but talked to a few individuals through telephone.

He added that the matter needed more consultation by the students’ general assembly.

Mr Puoch said last Friday JUSU council met to discuss the issue of the union’s dissolution and agreed on a number of resolutions which were not disclosed to the public.

He added the JUSU has no right to take any case forward before the consultation of all union members and the students through the general assembly.

Mr Puoch said the order issued by the administration of Juba University to close JUSU is illegal and unconstitutional and may bring instability to the university.

JUSU secretary said the university administration should have informed the students prior to take the decision to suspend the union.
