The Government has called on citizens to help the organized forces to contain insecurity in the country in general and in Juba in particular.

Barnaba Marial Benjamin said it was important for citizen to report suspect elements engaged in destabilizing the communities, including those selling expired goods.

He said citizens have the duty to alert the police whenever they see abnormal things happening in their areas so that legal measures are taken against criminals.

Dr Marial called on citizens to take up farming in order to produce food and get rid of poverty in the country.

He said the Government is working hard to import essential goods.

The spokesperson said the Government is encouraging investors to industrialize South Sudan.

Dr Marial made the call to farming because over half of the population of South Sudan lives below the poverty line as reported by the National Statistical Bureau.
