An analist said lack of labour laws is the main cause for youth unemployment in South Sudan.

Daniel Mayom said the Government did not come up yet with a clear policy that guarantees employment to the citizens and the youth in particular.

He added that laws in place were transported from the law of the Sudan.

Mr Mayom said the country fought for independence in order to prevent those laws from exploiting the people.

He added that the government, civil society and the private sector need to come up with new laws that will guide the employment sector.

Mr Mayom said the resources that were meant for allocation by the government to various institutions are being taken up by few individuals.

He added that investors tend to employ relatives or people from their country instead of South Sudanese.

Mr Mayom lamented that the government is benefiting very little from investors.

He made these statements at Bakhita Radio Wake up Juba show.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit urged MPs at the national assembly to approve the labour laws with urgency.
