YEI ELECTRICITY TO EXPAND POWER CAPACITY

Yei electricity authority announced that it will expand its generation capacity to overcome problems of power shortages in the county after holding a consultative meeting with the County Commissioner.

YECO, Yei Electricity Corporation, general manager Michael Malish told Radio Easter that they will produce more power to boost business activities, curb insecurity and promote a viable economic investment atmosphere in the county.

Civil Engineer Lolic Ladu Ð who works for Germany-based hydroelectric Roth Company Ð said they will work hand in hand with the YECO to increase power supply in Yei River County.

County Commissioner Juma David Augustine appreciated the move of extending the power lines to the county to allow investors to set up more factories and improve living standards through employment opportunities in the county.

The meeting was conducted at the County Commissioner’s office and attracted both engineers from YECO and international partners from Germany.
