The SPLA-North announced that has taken full control of a strategic location in the West of Deleny that has suffered repeated attacks by the Sudanese army.
The SPLM-North spokesman Arnu Ngatulu Lodi said on Saturday via email that the rebel forces took full control of Fraggila in Western Deleny.He said SAF, the Sudan Armed Forces, attacked Fraggila three times with heavy artillery and two aerial bombardments but they were repelled by the SPLA-North fighters.
Mr Lodi said that on Thursday SPLA-North forces repelled an attack and killed 61 SAF soldiers.
A number of wounded soldiers were transported to Deleny town and EL-Obied hospitals for treatment.
The spokesman appreciated the SPLA-North forces for their courage to struggle for liberation and controlling the towns to protect civilians.
The Government of Sudan continues to conduct aerial bombardments and ground attacks in the civilian areas in the South Kordofan claiming that they are fighting SPLM bastions that remained in their territory.
