South Sudan Postal Services have been brought to a stand still since the Sudanese Government stopped flights between Juba and Khartoum, on April 8.
South Sudan Post is now receiving mail through Ethiopia but it but it cannot send it.Deputy Director of Postal Services and International Relational, Lokosang Lemi Lokosang, told CRN today that there is been problem since Khartoum stopped direct flights into Juba.
He explained that South Sudan at the moment can receive mail from outside but it cannot send because it needs first to sign a contact with Ethiopian Airways and the Ethiopian Postal Service Administration in Addis Ababa.
Rev. Lemi added that the agreements and the contracts are ready to be inked next week.
He apologized to costumers for the disruption in the service with the promised that soon the Postal Services will start running smoothly.
Rev Lemi added after the contacts with the Ethiopian counterparts are signed everybody will have the right to send and receive mail, parcels or whatever documents from abroad.
