CENTRAL EQUATORIA TO RECLAIM ALL OCCUPIED SPORTS GROUNDS

The Council of Ministers of Central Equatoria State has resolved to reclaim all sports grounds taken over by settlers and businesses in Juba.

Government spokesperson Francis Barson Yuwasa told reporters that the Cabinet resolved to reclaim the areas illegally occupied by settlers and businesses in Juba.

A committee was formed with physical infrastructure, sport and local government ministers, the mayor and the commissioner.

They were mandated to investigate the legality of the settlers in sports grounds across Juba.

Mr Barson said the Cabinet resolved to demolish all structures built in the designated grounds and compensate the owners.

Among the areas in question are Juba Nabari sports ground and Buluk, Malakia and Hai Malakal play grounds Ð just to mention but a few.
