War victims have reduced in Nuba Mountains as fighting between Sudanese and SPLA-North forces cooled down.

At the height of the fighting local hospitals were received as many as 40 wounded people in a day for treatment.

Local sources say now the number of admissions has reduced significantly.

A nurse explained that her health facility has still a number of badly injured people who are recovering well.

Other cases were already discharged or are coming from dressing everyday.

Another nurse said the hospital at one point had more than 300 wounded people in the wards.

He said that most were already discharged and severely wounded people were recovering well and very fast.

The nurse asked the two parties to stop fighting altogether, commit themselves to a ceasefire and start a peace process in Nuba Mountains.
