The national members of parliaments have vowed to enact more laws in order to govern people in the new country and check on the performance of ministries.

Bakhita Radio recorded the views of some MPs after yesterday’s opening of the second session by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Akol Paul said in this session the MPs should pass the private member bill and other laws that would build a strong foundation for the new country.

He added the parliament needs to look into the activities of each ministry to ensure quick delivery of services to the citizens.

Minority leader Onyoti Adigo said the House needs to increase laws to govern South Sudan.

He added that MPs should supervise the Government to see if the ministries are delivering especially education and food.

Mr Adigo said each ministry should submit an action plan to the House.

Awut Deng said the national parliament should enact fundamental laws to improve the life of the people in South Sudan.

She said the parliament should be able to scrutinize the work plans and budgets of each ministry.

Yesterday President Salva Kiir called on the National Legislature to pass three important laws including media bills that are waiting approval for the last three years.
