The Government of Central Equatoria state has resolved that all cattle herders within the state should leave agricultural areas.

Government spokesperson Francis Barson Yuwasa told reporters yesterday that the state Cabinet resolved that cattle should be kept from farming areas for the animals not to destroy the crops.

He said cattle owners either take their cattle from farming areas or the state has to take appropriate measures.

Mr Barson added that the cattle located in Lobonok and Kajo Keji payams came from Terekeka and Bor counties and beyond and they have to go back to their places.

He said Central Equatoria Government wants to strengthen food security and cattle and crops do not go together.
