Over 40 finance officers from different government ministries in Lakes state are undergoing training in Public Financial Management.
The Director General at the State’s Labour and Public Service Ministry, Abraham Makur Mangok, told Good News Radio that the ministry was conducting a capacity building workshop.He said the workshop brought together directors for administration and finance, planning and budgeting, and internal audits and accountants from various government agencies.
Mr Makur said that the workshop was in line with Public Service Reforms Program explaining that Lakes State Government has resolved to invest in capacity building for its employees to enhance service delivery in the field of financial management.
He explained that the training will introduce the participants to the new national laws on financial management, budgeting and planning system.
Mr Makur added that the participants will learn from the experiences of the facilitators from Juba to help them render effective services to the people of Lakes state.
He urged the participants to practice the skills and knowledge acquired from the training.
