A member of the National Legislative Assembly acknowledged that some parts of South Sudan are experiencing a severe shortage of hard currency and fuel.

Zachariah Matur Makuer is the MP for Rumbek town Constituency. He told Good News Radio that the Government is working hard to secure hard currency reserves to facilitate goods imports.

He urged citizens to be patient with the Government, saying the Ministry of Finance promised to come up with a quick solution.

The MP noted that the country is facing insecurity threats and the shortage of fuel will affect the army in the boarder areas.

Lack of hard currency is affecting critical imports, including medicines, fuel, food and cement.
