Frustration is growing in Nasir, Upper Nile State, over what some are calling unfair food distribution.

Women held a peaceful demonstration demanding the government not let clan chiefs distribute the food by themselves, Internews Network reported.

Mer Pinyin Lual told Naath FM that they have lost trust in their chiefs.

She said chiefs do not give enough food to women with children.

Some chiefs are defending themselves saying they do not sell any food promised to community members.

Sub-chief Tut Lual Puk said the food aid is simply small √ɬê adding that’s why not everyone receives food.

Tut also said women are just making allegation without knowing what really causes the lack of food.

Frustration is growing all over South Sudan at the lack of food being distributed Ð especially when everyone can see the donated bags of food being sold in the market even though they are clearly marked not for sale.
